The Standing Committee for International Humanitarian Law signed a memorandum of understanding with the Forensic Medical Services Center affiliated with the Ministry of Health, as part of the activities of the Third Saudi Conference for Medical Sciences. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Standing Committee for International Humanitarian Law by its Secretary-General, Counselor Abdullah bin Mudrik Al-Ruwaili, and on behalf of the Medical Services Center by the Executive Director-General of the Center, Dr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Yahya.

The Memorandum of Understanding comes within the framework of the persistent efforts made by the Standing Committee to spread the culture of international humanitarian law, enhance its role and position in Saudi society, and activate its various mechanisms, especially after the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this field have received great international respect and appreciation, thanks to the endless support of our esteemed leadership, and the high guidance on the importance of expanding the dissemination of the culture of international humanitarian law on the widest scale internally and externally, for its role in appreciating and respecting human life and dignity during conflicts and wars.
It is worth mentioning that the Standing Committee has launched, during the past few days, many workshops, courses and events in various sectors, and has been widely welcomed, including the workshop on the application of international humanitarian law in the management of corpses during armed conflicts. It also established, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and Tabuk University, the “International Humanitarian Law” tent, titled “Integration between Civilian and Military Bodies in the Implementation and Application of International Humanitarian Law.”
