Establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) for Sharing Expertise and Knowledge Exchange

Major General Mohammed bin Saeed al-Moghedi, the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition’s Acting Secretary-General, and Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Alowaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and President of the Standing Committee of International Humanitarian Law, signed on an MoU as part of the collaborative efforts among Arab, Islamic, and international entities, and the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition.

Major General al-Moghedi clarified that the purpose of the MoU is to facilitate the sharing of expertise and transfer of knowledge regarding international humanitarian law, as well as to foster research and academic collaboration between the two parties. This initiative is intended to enhance mutual exchange and skill development in areas of shared interest. He also emphasized the crucial role of the Standing Committee of International Humanitarian Law in addressing armed conflicts and their repercussions in countries affected by past and ongoing wars and terrorism.  
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Coalition stressed the necessity of governing legal work during conflicts and wars, in accordance with humanitarian legal frameworks to protect peoples and societies from immoral violations.
The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition’s Acting Secretary-General emphasized the importance of regulating legal practices in times of conflicts and wars, in alignment with humanitarian legal standards, to safeguard individuals and communities from inhumane violations.
 

On his part, Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Alowaisi emphasized the significance of implementing collaborative efforts and fostering understanding among entities responsible for international humanitarian law, with the goal of broadening the scope of global peace and security. He highlighted the importance of minimizing conflict and war tensions, promoting a culture of peace, and underlined Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for initiatives aimed at de-escalating conflicts worldwide to secure the safety and well-being of all individuals. This approach seeks to ensure a high quality of life for communities, accelerates development, and fosters progress and innovation. 
This collaboration is significant as it falls within efforts to counter terrorism and extremism, while also amplifying the international humanitarian role in addressing relevant issues.
